Product Design Transition Task - ALevel D&T COVID-19 Homelearning

(5)
Transition task for Year 11s going into Year 12 . The tasks focus on the key skills that students will need for A Level and have links to help guide them. I have included a time slot for each task. I added an additional tasks and extensions so that this could be used as a term project for Year 11 during school closures. There are four tasks: - hand sketch technical drawing, CAD, problem solving design task, exploring designers and analysis It is a word document so that you can edit. Feedback welcome. Thank you. Design and Technology GCSE ALevel Iterative design. Student 'next step' cards for OCR coursework

(2)
Help cards to support students with their ‘next step’ in the iterative design cycle. Use as a starter, lesson focus or to encourage independent learning. Each card has two focused questions and 3 differentiated options for next step activity/task. All cards are based on OCRs NEA assessment. Students have been really responsive to using these. Any feedback or ideas please share.

AQA GCSE NEA checklist that has all the pages needed linked to the mark scheme. There is one for textiles focus and one for product design. I use it as a Google sheet on Google Classrooms so that students can edit it and I can monitor their progress. Made on excel so it can be edited.

Product Design A Level Project Redesign the ketchup bottle

PowerPoint for Product Design A Level project that teachers designing for different stakeholder’s needs. I normally run the project for 4 weeks and teach ‘identifying requirements’ and ‘communication techniques’ through the project. I give each student a different stakeholder that they need to design for. It is a great project to show how the same initial brief will have different design outcomes depending on who you are designing for. PowePoint can be edited. I have included an example of a student’s submitted work for reference.
